Powerblock mixing is playing lots of songs quickly all in the same key and around a similar BPM. Because the songs are in the same key and have a similar BPM (if not the exact same) there aren’t many adjustments that need to be made to the song when you load the next in. This means you can quickly focus on creative transitions and keep the crowd on their toes. It also forces you to look for tracks you wouldn’t usually mix together and come up with new creative blends. You will need to be able to organise your music by key and by BPM. In Serato for example you could make a secondary sort column. In Rekordbox this can be done by making intelligent playlists or using the related tracks feature to come up with ideas. Each software has a slightly different approach to organising by BPM and Key at the same time. If you can’t organise by both parameters together then I would suggest organising by BPM and just picking tracks in the same key as you navigate up and down.
